5 Things to Do in Milwaukee for the First Week of August: Aug. 3-6

1. Washington Heights Front Yard Pop-Up

Support local artists, makers and musicians at this pop-up marketplace featuring 17 Milwaukee creators. Confections, candles, clothing and everything in between will be up for sale.

2. Shooting Stars and Meteor Showers

WEDNESDAY, AUG. 5 FROM 7-8 P.M. | ONLINE EVENT

This pay-what-you-can educational presentation will delve into the science of shooting stars, as well as the best ways to see them. It’s recommended for ages 5 and up, but all are welcome. Registration is required.

3. Taste of State Fair

STARTS THURSDAY, AUG. 6 | 906 S. BARCLAY ST.

All your favorite State Fair foods will be on the menu at the Ivy House, along with beers, cocktails and live music. Oh, and if you’re just in it for the cream puffs, they’re available for pre-order and pickup.

4. National IPA Day

THURSDAY, AUG. 6 FROM 11 A.M-10 P.M. | 1128 N. 9TH ST.

5. World’s Largest Root Beer Float Drive-Thru

THURSDAY, AUG. 6 FROM NOON-8 P.M. | 701 W. GLENDALE AVE. 

Sprecher Brewing Company is breaking a world record this week, and they want you to be a part of it. Just stop by their drive-thru and pick up your free root beer floats to join in.
