1. Cedar Teeth Pizza

MADE IN MILWAUKEE

I know, I know – Wisconsin produces a lot of frozen pizzas. But Cedar Teeth is special. The pies are vegetarian or vegan and made on owner Hannah Roland’s crispy sourdough crust. A couple fave flavors: Cheesus Crust and the Thai-leaning Peanut Gallery.

2. Pretzilla

MADE IN MILWAUKEE

We already know how pretzel buns can elevate sandwich fixings and burger patties. So delicious – and such a chewy texture. Milwaukee’s Pretzilla has fun with buns, with sizes to also fit hot dogs and sausages and wee pretzel bites to warm in the oven and dunk in mustard, dips (buffalo chicken!), fondue or chocolate sauce.

It’s time to pick your Milwaukee favorites for the year!

3. Heirloom Liqueurs’ Alchermes

MADE IN MILWAUKEE

This infused spirit is an easy way to warm a cool cocktail like the Negroni. With notes of cinnamon and clove (as well as vanilla bean and rosewater), the scarlet-red concoction has a spicy bite that tempers its sweetness. In Italy’s Emilia-Romagna region, the liqueur is used in zuppa inglese, a trifle dessert.

4. Wisco Pop! Sparkle

MADE IN MADISON

The maker of eponymous sodas in retro labeling also cans a couple flavors of these unsweetened sparkling waters. The ginger flavor has the gentle heat of the aromatic root, lots of zingy bubbles and a whisper of sweetness.

5. Slide Gourmet Potato Chips

MADE IN MADISON

These chips seem less like a commercially made fried snack than a, let’s call it, artisanal one. They’re thick-cut and crisp, a good kind of salty and come in delish flavors like dill pickle.
