What’s New in Milwaukee in September 2025

3 New Things Coming to Milwaukee This September

The Pack’s latest draft pick, a new indie album and a novel about small-town Wisconsin.

1. Matthew Golden

It’s time to see what the Packers’ big draft pick – their first pass-catcher taken in the first round since 2002 – can do on the field. Expect blazing speed, crisp routes and more than a touch of flash.  The season kicked off Sept. 7 with a win against Detroit and only two catches for Golden; next up is the Washington Commanders on Sept. 11.

2. Patchwork: A Road Dog Story

This energetic album from local indie rocker Parker Schultz (aka Social Cig) is all about the misadventures that come with hitting the road. It’s out now, and he’s celebrating with a show at Turner Hall Ballroom on Sept. 12.

3. Life, & Death, & Giants

Nearly 8-foot-tall teenager Gabriel spends most of his sheltered life in Amish Wisconsin until he becomes the talk of a small town. This literary novel by Oshkosh author Ron Rindo is a tall tale about “faith, family, buried secrets and everyday miracles.” It’s out now.
