1. Art in Bloom
ALL WEEKEND | MILWAUKEE ART MUSEUM
Art in Bloom returns this weekend, showcasing floral interpretations of art works at the museum while welcoming the season of spring. The four-day event has shopping, live music, art-making, refreshments and more. The Floral Fashion party is also happening on April 19, with tickets sold separately.

2. New Dramaworks Short Play Festival
ALL WEEKEND | KENILWORTH SQUARE EAST, KENILWORTH 508
Dramaworks is a collection of short, original plays written by UW-Milwaukee students. This showcase is an opportunity for students to share their original writing with each other and the public.
3. Drum Circle & Storytelling
FRIDAY FROM 6-7:30 P.M | ANGELIC ROOTS
Learn about the ceremony of Native American Drumming led by Djuro and special guest Lakota elder, Mr. Charging Crow. Along with percussion, there will be storytelling and singing, with no experience necessary to participate.

4. Pet Nero the Cat
FRIDAY FROM 6-8 P.M. | THE ROMAN COIN ON BRADY STREET
Sip & Purr Cat Cafe’s beloved cat Nero is having a meet and greet! Pet the furry friend of the hour, learn more about Sip & Purr’s new building updates and chat with fellow cat-lovers. There will also be light snacks from The Roman Coin and free stickers for attendees.
5. Third Ward Beer Garden Season Opening
FRIDAY FROM 5-9 P.M. | CATALANO SQUARE
It’s opening weekend for the Third Ward Beer Garden. There will be live music by Rick Pomeroy, outdoor games, beer and ready-to-drink cocktails. The night will coincide with the first keg tap of the season, Explorium Brewpub Copper Lagger. This beer will be free while supplies last.
6. The 5 Card Studs
FRIDAY 7-9:30 P.M. | WEST PERFORMING ARTS CENTER
The 5 Card Studs, a local band made of all veteran players, are bringing back forgotten and favorite songs this weekend, performing early rock and roll, ’60s pop, punk, soul, disco and more. There will be a bar with proceeds going towards the Education Foundation of New Berlin.
7. Chad Daniels at Milwaukee Improv

Chad Daniels has been featured on The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien and has reached the top 10 albums on Billboard Comedy three times. Check out his four upcoming comedy shows at Milwaukee Improv this weekend.
8. Spring Gallery Night at the Pfister
FRIDAY AND SATURDAY | THE PFISTER HOTEL
While the Pfister’s artist in residence Heidi Parkes is abroad, her friend Anja Notanja Sieger will sit in to write friendship poems for those who bring a special object or something dear that represents a friend. People will receive two copies of the poem – one fro a friend and one for Parkes when she returns. This event is free.
9. 29th Annual Milwaukee Riverkeeper Spring Cleanup
SATURDAY FROM 9 A.M.-12 P.M. | MILWAUKEE RIVER BASIN
This weekend you can join over 4,000 volunteers to help restore and clean up the river. There are over 90 locations to participate at, and there will be a free Earth Day celebration after the event at the Harley Davidson Museum too. Bags and gloves will be provided on site.

12. Earth Day Workshop

Discovery World is hosting a Plant it On event – a guided workshop on making seed paper from recycled materials and wildflowers. Afterwards, you can take your paper home and plant it yourself for a bloom of different flowers to welcome spring.
12. Earth Week Spring Clothing Swap
SATURDAY FROM 10 A.M.-2 P.M. | URBAN ECOLOGY CENTER – RIVERSIDE PARK
Instead of buying new clothes, bring the clothes you no longer wear and swap with somebody for some fresh wardrobe staples. As well as being a more economic option than buying new, clothing swaps are eco-friendly too. This event is free.
13. LSOLSG: Actively Missing You Poetry Workshop with Jenna Knapp and KP Kaszubowski
SATURDAY FROM 1-4 P.M. | LYNDEN SCULPTURE GARDEN
Walk through Lynden Sculpture Garden with poets Jenna Knapp and KP Kaszubowski while working on poems of your own. This session will focus on exploring themes of grief, change and loss by looking at our relationship to the places that make us who we are.
14. Downtown Racine Seltzer Beer Stroll
SATURDAY FROM 1-6 P.M. | DOWNTOWN RACINE
The Downtown Racine Seltzer Beer Stroll combines sipping on seltzers and beer with taking a walk through Racine, visiting 20 different spots throughout the downtown area. A ticket gets you 20 samples, appetizers, snacks, and a 4oz sampling glass.
15. “Negative Capability”
FRIDAY AND SATURDAY | GROVE GALLERY
Matthew Presutti’s first solo exhibition, “Negative Capability,” will premier at Grove Gallery (832 S. 5th St.) this weekend. “Negative Capability” is a series of handprinted photopolymer gravures, shot with a 4×5 camera and printed on homemade hemp paper.
16. ’70s & ’80s & ’90s Retro Dance Party
SATURDAY FROM 8-11:59 P.M. | BAVARIAN BIERHAUS
With DJ Lukewarm spinning, travel back in time to all three decades, dance to retro music classics and watch MTV music videos on a big screen. This event is free.
