1. Free Day and Celebration: ‘Homelands’
THURSDAY FROM 10 A.M.-8 P.M. | MILWAUKEE ART MUSEUM
Celebrate Native American Heritage Month during this free, activity-packed day at the Art Museum. Spotlighting works and ideas found in the “Homelands: Mnë’nának, Māēnāēwah, Tešišik” gallery, the day’s lineup includes basket weaving, a portrait pop-up, drop-in tours, an artist talk and more.
2. The New Reality Fest
SATURDAY AND SUNDAY | X-RAY ARCADE
Check out this new, all-ages hardcore and metal fest presented by Milwaukee Hardcore, The Basement Collective and X-Ray Arcade. The two-day event opens its doors at 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, with live music starting at 4 p.m.
3. Dav Pilkey
SUNDAY AT 1 P.M. | RIVERSIDE THEATER
You can enjoy a visual presentation, a live-drawing session, a comic-creation station and giveaways galore during Dav Pilkey’s afternoon at The Riverside. Pilkey is the best-selling author and award-winning artist responsible for children’s books like Dog Man and Captain Underpants.

4. Country Christmas
ALL WEEKEND | THE INGLESIDE HOTEL
Feel the Christmas spirit a little early during the opening walk-through weekend of Country Christmas, a holiday lights event set at the Ingleside Hotel in Pewaukee. Admission is available until 8 p.m., and $2 of each $10 ticket will go to the Christmas Clearing Council of Waukesha County.
5. Author Talk: Carol Cornelius
THURSDAY AT 6:30 P.M. | MILWAUKEE PUBLIC LIBRARY
Carol Cornelius, who holds a Ph.D. in cross-cultural curriculum and American Indian history from Cornell University, will be discussing her new book, A History of Indigenous Voices, during Thursday’s free author talk at the Milwaukee Public Library. Her work explores the complex history of treaty-making and forced removal of Indigenous peoples in Wisconsin.
6. Samuel J. Comroe
FRIDAY AND SATURDAY | MILWAUKEE IMPROV
Catch comedian Samuel J. Comroe while he’s in town for four showtimes at the Improv. The Los Angeles native pulls much of his material from his experience living with Tourette syndrome, a diagnosis he received at the age of six.
7. Barre at MAM

Milwaukee Ballet’s Robyn Pearce will lead an all-levels barre class underneath the Museum’s iconic wings, with views of Lake Michigan’s November chill. Guests can arrive as early as 7 a.m. to settle into the space with their personal yoga mats. Get tickets online.

You can roll out your mat (and raise your glass) at Lion’s Tail in Tosa on Saturday morning. Your first drink after the 45-minute all-levels yoga class is included with the $20 registration fee. Shop small and local at the Cudahy Family Library’s Fall Craft & Vendor Fair this Saturday. Visitors can participate in a raffle giveaway and purchase a meal on-site. Plus, keep your eye out for the library’s food drive – nonperishable items are being collected for Project Concern.
10. Megadoc and Megalopolis Double Feature
SATURDAY AT 12:30 P.M. | ORIENTAL THEATRE
Last year’s Megalopolis marked the realization of a longtime dream of legendary director Francis Ford Coppola. The man behind The Godfather self-funded the film, which he first attempted to make in the ’80s. The story of an architect’s journey to building a utopian city polarized critics after its release last year. Megadoc documents the tale of that movie’s making – you can catch both back-to-back at the Oriental, courtesy of Milwaukee Film. Tickets are available here.
11. Campfire Cooking
SATURDAY FROM 5-6:30 P.M. | URBAN ECOLOGY CENTER – MENOMONEE VALLEY
The Urban Ecology Center’s Menomonee Valley location is teaching basic outdoor cooking skills to prepare a simple, kid-friendly meal, featuring veggies, rice and a sweet campfire dessert at this family-friendly event. The Center asks participants to supply their own reusable plates and utensils, along with a personal water bottle. Register here.

15. The Brickyard Holiday Marketplace + BrickBox

This new collaborative event will fill Glendale’s Bavarian Bierhaus with 100 makers and art-centric brick and mortar shops for an indoor/outdoor market experience.
