10 Ways to Ring in Valentine’s Day This Year

Valentine’s Day falls on Monday this year, but you shouldn’t let that throw a wrench in your romance. There are events all weekend!

1. Romancing the Stars! Valentine Stargazing

SATURDAY AND MONDAY | MILWAUKEE PUBLIC MUSEUM

What’s more romantic than stargazing? Explore the constellations of love at the Milwaukee Public Museum, complete with a red rose and a box of chocolates to round out a night of romance and stargazing. Admission is $12.50 for in-person attendees, or $10 to follow along remotely via YouTube Live.

2. Secret Admirer Valentine’s Day Dinner

FRIDAY-MONDAY | SAFEHOUSE

Join SafeHouse spy bar and restaurant for a special dinner with your not-so-secret admirer this Valentine’s Day weekend. For $125, unlock a special menu for your three-course dinner for two and a bottle of brut champagne.

3. Murder Mystery Dinner

MONDAY | SHAKERS CIGAR BAR

Interested in a different kind of Valentine’s Day celebration? Grab a costume and join Shakers Cigar Bar for a murder-mystery themed dinner and reception. For $150 per person or $250 per couple, you can sleuth around all four floors of the bar to figure out who done it.

UNITY AWARDS EVENT

Join Milwaukee Magazine and Quad for the third-annual Unity Awards Event on March 8 from 6:30-9 p.m. at GATHER in the Deer District.

4. Chocolate Pairing Class

FRIDAY | INDULGANCE CHOCOLATIERS OR VIRTUAL

Keep it classic with a special, off-menu chocolate, cheese and wine pairing class that will bring your charcuterie board, and your Valentine’s Day, to the next level of indulgence. Tickets are $30 per person for the in-person class, or $65 for a kit for two that you can enjoy at home.

5. Summerfest Love Notes

SATURDAY-MONDAY | SUMMERFEST NORTH GATE

Need to make a grand gesture for your valentine? For $20, you could have a love note displayed on the big screen outside of the north gate of the Summerfest grounds. You get to pick the day and the message, and proceeds go to Next Door Foundation’s Books for Kids program.

6. Picture Perfect Proposal

FRIDAY-MONDAY | SAINT KATE – THE ARTS HOTEL

Looking to propose this Valentine’s Day? Saint Kate is currently taking reservations for their picture-perfect proposal package, which includes access to the hotel’s event planners and photographers to snap a photo of your big moment. Other features of the package include an overnight private suite with champagne, flowers, a painted portrait of the moment you got down on one knee, and a private dinner for two complete with a string quartet.

7. Romantic Hotel Getaway

FRIDAY-MONDAY | THE PFISTER HOTEL

If you’re looking to go classic this year, The Pfister Hotel will offer “The Perfect Valentine’s Package” wrapped up in a bow. Begin with champagne and chocolates waiting for you to arrive and end the evening at the hotel’s bar and lounge, Blu. There, you and your valentine can have the VIP treatment with live music, a dessert trio for two and your choice of champagne or a cocktail flight.

8. Mass Vow Renewal

MONDAY | LAKEFRONT BREWERY

Lakefront Brewery is once again opening the chapel for beer-loving spouses-to-be. Though the brewery is all booked for individual wedding ceremonies, there is plenty of space for the annual mass vow renewals, which owner and President Russ Klisch will preside over. Enjoy a free beer in hand for this special moment.

9. Heart-Shaped Pizza

MONDAY | PROOF PIZZA

The proof is in the pizza – everyone wants to feel loved with a heart shaped pizza, and Proof at Saint Kate – The Arts Hotel has you covered for your love-themed pie while supplies last.

10. Galentines Day Brunch

SUNDAY | FREIGHT 38

Tickets are still available to spend Galentine’s Day at Freight 38 for the 3rd annual Galentine’s Brunch. Festivities include lingerie and pajama contests, facials, massages, brunch and bubbly. Admission is $15, and there are plenty of add-ons to get the party started.
