1. Nō Studios Filmmaker Showcase

ALL WEEKEND | NŌ STUDIOS 

Nō Studios is hosting its first film showcase this week, featuring student films, documentaries, animation and more. The multi-day showcase concludes with an Oscars watch party on Sunday. 

2. PBR: Unleash the Beast 

ALL WEEKEND | FISERV FORUM

Professional bull riding is coming to the Fiserv Forum this weekend. This is the 15th event in the 23-event regular season, and top 40 bull riders in the world will go head-to-head to get points toward the season. 


It’s time to pick your Milwaukee favorites for the year!

 

3. Like a Girl Beer Release Party

FRIDAY FROM 4-8 P.M. | THIRD SPACE BREWING

In celebration of National Women’s Day, Third Space Brewing is releasing its new beer, “Like a Girl” in collaboration with the Pink Boots Society Wisconsin Chapter. Also joining the release party is woman-owned Pico’s Food Truck. All femme guests receive one pint, get one free.

4. Let’s Talk Womxn: Live Out Loud Dinner

FRIDAY FROM 6-9 P.M. | DENIZEN

On International Women’s Day, this party at Denizen celebrates women-owned food and drink establishments in Milwaukee. Besides a full spread of food, there will be raffles, a drag show, music by DJ Livid, booty portraits, a photobooth and more.

5. Be Our Guest: 90s/00s Disney Throwback Night

SATURDAY FROM 9-11:59 P.M. | THE RAVE/EAGLES CLUB

A night of nostalgia and childhood memories hits The Rave this weekend, with different DJs playing Disney fanatics’ favorite songs from the ’90s and ’00s. The dance party encourages costumes and will have themed drinks.  

6. Celebrate Barbie’s 65th Birthday at Ultratwist Vintage

SATURDAY 12-6 P.M. | ULTRATWIST VINTAGE

Kids are welcome, but this Barbie Birthday party is geared towards adults, with photo ops, a costume contest and bubbly. The costume contest starts at 2 p.m. and the winner gets a $50 gift card to the shop. Ultratwist encourages guests to have fun with the theme and go all out – wear some pink or dress up as your favorite Barbie. This event is free.

7. Carnival Milwaukee 

FRIDAY 5:30 – 9 P.M. | HISTORIC PRIZTLAFF BUILDING

Carnival Milwaukee celebrates Carnival traditions of cultures around the world. With food vendors, music, dancers and a raffle, the event brings together over 300 guests from diverse backgrounds to celebrate together. 

8. Ex Fabula StorySlam: Choices

SATURDAY AT 1 P.M. | INTERCHANGE THEATER

Ex Fabula StorySlams are a chance for the community to share personal stories in a non-competitive format according to a specific theme. Saturday’s theme is “Choices,” and people of any age can participate. If you don’t feel like sharing, you can go and listen to stories instead. 

9. Punk Rock Rummage Sale

SATURDAY FROM 11 A.M.-3 P.M. | X-RAY ARCADE

On Saturday, X-Ray Arcade is turning into a marketplace, where you can buy vintage clothes, vinyl, art and all things punk. We wrote about the backstory of Punk Rock Rummage Sale last year – read it here

10. Hitchcock’s The Lodger with Little Bang Theory

SUNDAY FROM 3-5 P.M. | JAN SERR STUDIO

Little Bang Theory will perform a live score of Hitchcock’s silent film The Lodger using toys and tiny instruments for one performance only. See it at Jann Serr Studio on Sunday.
