10 Things to Do This Fourth of July Weekend in Milwaukee: July 1-4

Summerfest, the Lakefront Fireworks and more will keep you busy this long weekend.

1. Rob Little at Milwaukee Improv

ALL WEEKEND | MILWAUKEE IMPROV MAIN ROOM

Rob Little is set to take over Milwaukee Improv this weekend. The self-described optimist has written for sketch comedy shows like Fox Sports Net Show “The Best Damn Sports Show Period” and “Last Call with Carson Daly.” Tickets are available now.

2. Milwaukee Justice Center’s Mobile Legal Clinic for Records Cleanup

FRIDAY FROM 2 P.M. – 4 P.M. | MILWAUKEE PUBLIC LIBRARY MITCHELL STREET BRANCH

The clinic, hosted by Milwaukee Justice Center, will discuss criminal record expungement, pardons and eviction record expungement. Attendees will learn about how these processes work and who is eligible for them.

3. Machine Gun Kelly with Avril Lavigne

FRIDAY AT 7:30 P.M. | SUMMERFEST

Machine Gun Kelly brings his “Mainstream Sellout Tour” to the second weekend of Summerfest. He will be joined by 2000s music icon Avril Lavigne at the American Family Insurance Amphitheater.

4. “Sinisterhood” Live

FRIDAY AT 7 P.M. | COLECTIVO BACK ROOM

Creators of the true crime podcast Sinisterhood, Christie Wallace and Heather McKinney, are coming to Milwaukee to share their love all things weird and creepy. Tickets are available online.

5. Lions Family 4th Fest

ALL WEEKEND | GREENDALE

This five-day family fun fest has it all: food, live music, amusement rides, fireworks and a classic Wisconsin fish fry to top it all off. Make sure to bring cash for the kids amusement rides!

6. Sugar Cube Donuts Pop-Up

SATURDAY AT 9 A.M. – NOON | CROSSROADS COLLECTIVE

Want to spice up your morning coffee and donut routine? The vegan donut shop is topping by the Crossroads Collective to sell crème brûlée and Samoa inspired donuts plus other unique flavors.

7. Halsey at Summerfest

SATURDAY AT 7:30 P.M. | SUMMERFEST

Halsey’s “Love and Power” tour comes to Summerfest this weekend. They will be performing music off their new, Grammy-nominated album “If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power.” Tickets are available now.

8. Annual July 3 Lakefront Fireworks

SUNDAY AT 9:30 P.M. | VETERANS PARK

Celebrate Independence Day a day early with this Milwaukee tradition. You can enjoy a 45-minute fireworks display down by the lake with friends and family. Food and drinks will be available for purchase. Parking will cost $25 per car or $50 for a car pulling a trailer. Purchases must be cash only.

9. National Independent Beer Run Day

SUNDAY | MILWAUKEE BREWERIES 

Looking for some places to check out? There’s a host of new breweries and taprooms to visit – Ope Brewing and Perspective Brewing in West Allis, Torzala Brewing in Bay View’s Lincoln Warehouse and Good City Brewing’s new taproom at the Mequon Public Market.  

10. $4 on the Fourth

MONDAY FROM 9:30 A.M. – 5 P.M. | MILWAUKEE COUNTY ZOO

Celebrate your Fourth of July at Milwaukee County Zoo where you will get plenty of bang for your buck. All visitors will be admitted for $4. Tickets can be bought online now. Other regular parking and attraction fees still apply.
