10 Local Vintage and Retro Clothing Stores

Consider this your guide to Milwaukee’s booming secondhand shopping scene.

Shopping pre-owned clothes is a sustainable, fashion-forward and personal style-focused way to source your look. And as of late, there are brick-and-mortar, showroom and online sellers popping up all around the city. Here are a few of our favorite spots to shop:

1. Refresh Curated Goods

5700 N. BAYSHORE DR., GLENDALE

Located at The Collective at Bayshore, Refresh Curated Goods is a Black- and woman-owned store with vintage and retro clothes and home goods. “Refresh is really all about the glamorous, luxurious, ornate vintage,” owner Meaghan Bertram says. “I also intentionally carry a lot of Black and African home decor.”

2. Plume

3001 S. KINNICKINNIC AVE., SUITE 2

A bright and colorful space – recently expanded to include more plus-size, masculine and special-occasion options in a new upstairs room called The Crest – Plume has a curated collection of pieces that seamlessly blend vintage and modern. “Vintage is essentially just all the trends that we recycle for today’s fashion anyway,” says owner Maggie Solveson.
