The Avant-Garden of Love Concert and After Party
Jan Serr Studio (2155 N. Prospect Ave.) | Thursday And Friday At 7:30 P.M.
Described as a “love letter to avant-garde in the form of a quirky concert,” this event takes a creative approach to Valentine’s Day. Swedish composer and vocalist Sophie Dunér and Michigan’s toy-playing orchestra Little Bang Theory will join the Present Music Ensemble for the musical evening. Whether you attend the concert or not, the Twisted Hearts Surreal Soiree on the 14th is just the thing for those who want to celebrate the holiday in a decidedly un-Hallmark fashion. Groove to the sounds of We Six jazz ensemble while playing Exquisite Corpse (a drawing game) or writing a non-narrative love letter to the object of your affection. Then grab some food and a drink and settle in for the most extraordinary drag show ever to entertain Milwaukee, featuring Miss Birdie and a roster of glamorous gals.
