What comes to mind when you see the word “slush”? Winters in Milwaukee? Local self-taught designer Yosh Yorner’s debut collection, SLUSH, is inspired by just that. “I’m proud to be from here, and I want to bring that to life through my work.”

It’s time to pick your Milwaukee favorites for the year!
Yorner – aka Josh Horner (get it?) – majored in finance, finishing his degree at UW-Eau Claire, but found he had “a creative itch that needed to be scratched.” He started designing hoodies, T-shirts and swimwear during the pandemic under the brand YALO. Now Yorner is switching focus and getting ready to release SLUSH, the debut collection under his Yosh Yorner brand.
Yorner describes SLUSH as wintry, moody and gritty. He’s showing the streetwear-inspired collection at MARN on Jan. 12, and it’ll be available for preorder at yoshyorner.com. “It’s not your traditional fashion show,” he says. “You’re going to be stepping into a completely different world.”
