15 Things to Do in Milwaukee This Weekend: April 18-20

Earth Day clean ups, Easter brunches and more events are coming your way.

1. East Side Community Clean Up

FRIDAY FROM NOON-5 P.M. | CROSSROADS COLLECTIVE

Get the east side looking spick and span this Friday – we need it after all this wind blowing everything around! Volunteers will receive essential cleaning supplies, like gloves and trash bags, but there’s a limited number of other items, like garbage pickers, street shovels, garden rakes and safety vests. Arrive between noon and 5 p.m. to receive your supplies and assigned area, do a little good and then head back to Crossroads for their $5 happy hour.

2. Candlelight Spring: Featuring Vivaldi’s Four Seasons and More

FRIDAY FROM 6:30-7:45 P.M. | ST. JAMES 1868

This performance combines music with a lush, floral display to welcome spring. The group will be playing Vivaldi’s famous The Four Seasons. Tickets are available online.

3. Good Friday Dance Party

FRIDAY FROM 8-11 P.M. | FALCON BOWL

You can start the long weekend off right and get your groove on at this soul and funk dance party! Dance to live music from reggae band Shunga Blu and high-energy tribute band The All Night Long Show Band. General admission is available online.

4. My Morning Jacket

FRIDAY AT 8 P.M. | RIVERSIDE THEATRE

My Morning Jacket is coming to Milwaukee! The rock band is touring for its 10th studio album, “is.” Snag a ticket while they’re still available.  

5. Modern Bop – Jeanne Marie Farinelli Quartet

FRIDAY FROM 8-10:30 P.M. | BAR CENTRO

Jeanne Marie Farinelli is a saxophonist and educator in the Milwaukee area who fuses modern and traditional sounds in her improvised music, creating a unique listen and a soulful vibe. Modern Bop is a celebration of the hard bop era with a modern flare. The Jeanne Marie Farinelli Quartet will be performing the 1962 Dexter Gordon album “GO!” before an exploration of modern compositions. This event has a $15 cover.

6. Joint Beer Fest

FRIDAY & SATURDAY FROM 1-6 P.M. | EAGLE PARK BREWING & DISTILLING COMPANY

Explore unique breweries, distilleries and meaderies from around the Midwest at this year’s Joint Beer Fest. Cans will be available for at-home enjoyment, too. The fest will also feature live music, hemp product vendors and munchie-themed buffets included with every ticket.

7. 420 Eve Party

SATURDAY FROM NOON-6 P.M. | KELLY’S GREENS CANNIBAS BOUTIQUE & CAFÉ

Kelly’s Greens’ 420 Eve Party will have drink specials, a hot and cold hors d’oeuvres spread, live bluegrass and a 4:20 raffle drawing; maybe you’ll even make some best buds!

8. Bunny Paint & Sip

SATURDAY FROM 6-8 P.M. | 5706 N CENTERPARK WAY

Easter isn’t just for the kids! This adult bunny paint and sip (with non-alcoholic options) offers pre-sketched Easter canvases, a drink of your choice and guided instruction with each ticket.

9. Cake & Karaoke

SATURDAY FROM 6-9 P.M. | DELICIOUS BITES

This ladies-only event features cake decorating and singing your heart out. No skill is required – unless you want to show off your piping or vocal range. A ticket includes pre-baked cakes and decorating supplies, guidance from expert bakers, karaoke, and light snacks and refreshments. Feel free to bring your own drinks to keep the party going, too!

10. Party101 with DJ Matt Bennett

SATURDAY AT 8 P.M. | THE RAVE

Throw back to simpler times with hits from Nickelodeon and Disney Channel with Matt Bennett from Nickelodeon’s “Victorious.” This event is all ages and tickets are available online.

11. Easter Bubbles & Brunch

SUNDAY FROM 8 A.M.-2 P.M. | SAINT KATE THE ARTS HOTEL

Easter Sunday is all about a good brunch. Saint Kate – The Arts Hotel is starting off the day with a decadent mean, featuring biscuits and gravy, PB&J French toast and pan seared salmon, paired with endless mimosas. They’ve got mocktails and Valentine coffee, too. Reservations for this event require a $10 hold per person.

12. Easter Brunch

SUNDAY FROM 10 A.M.-3 P.M. | PILOT PROJECT BREWING

More brunch (and mimosas)! Pilot Project will have crème brulee French toast for the sweet tooth and a breakfast burger for the savory folks out there. A bloody Mary bar will be available, too, in case that’s your meal of choice. Reserve a spot online.

13. Seed Swap + Park Clean-Up

SUNDAY FROM 11 A.M.-2 P.M. | CACTUS CLUB

The Cactus Club’s annual seed swap hosted by Hazelwood Farm is this Sunday. Coalesce around seeds, celebrate spring as the weather slowly warms and give back to Mother Earth at the park clean up. This free event is for all ages.

14. Family Easter Art Workshop

SUNDAY FROM 3-5 P.M. | ZOCALO FOOD PARK

This kid-friendly paint and sip is the perfect craft for the whole family. A ticket includes a bunny art workshop, an Easter egg hunt and hot chocolate to fuel up. Tickets are available online.

15. Pattie Gonia Presents: SAVE HER!

SUNDAY AT 8 P.M. | TURNER HALL BALLROOM

Critically acclaimed drag artist Pattie Gonia stars in this environmental drag show all about climate change and solutions. Pattie Gonia is an environmentalist, community organizer and, of course, a drag queen. She is joined by other drag queens and kings, including some local drag performers. Tickets are available online.
