Slice of Ice Skating Rink Opens for the Season

Lace up your ice skates. Downtown’s outdoor skating rink, Slice of Ice, opened today.

Red Arrow Park’s ice skating rink, Slice of Ice (920 N. Water St.), opened for the season today at 3 p.m. The refrigerated ice rink accommodates up to 100 people and is open through February (or March, if the weather permits).

On Dec. 21, Slice of Ice Holiday Hoopla celebrates the start of the skating season with live holiday music, free drink samples and the opportunity to visit with Santa Claus. The first 100 visitors will receive goodie bags filled with free giveaways.

Skating is free if you bring your own skates, and you can have your blades sharpened for $6. Click here for more information on hours and skate rentals.
