On Feb. 24, a crowd celebrated Milwaukee Magazine‘s sixth annual Unity Awards at Jan Serr Studio on the East Side. The event highlighted the remarkable accomplishments of this year’s Unity Award honorees, whose work spans disability advocacy, food security, substance use rehabilitation and much more.
Deanna Singh, a social entrepreneur, author and 2023 Unity Award honoree, emceed the evening, leading a conversation with each of this year’s winners: Kurt Owens of Bridge Builders; Jack Bolog of People’s Table; Element Everest-Blanks of the Marcus Center, HYFIN, and the Culture Plug; Ken Ginlack of Serenity Inns; Katie Cummings of Pink Umbrella Theater Co.; and Levi Stein of The Friendship Circle.
