Pat’s Rib Place Is Opening This Week at the Public Market

The new location is serving up ribs, wings, brisket and much more.

Pat’s Rib Place opens this Friday, Oct. 22, in the Milwaukee Public Market (400 N. Water St.).

Alisha and Tydus Hayes first opened the restaurant’s Waukesha location (151 E. Sunset Dr.) in 2009, naming it after Alisha’s mother Pat. It has since become known for its smoked barbecue ribs, chicken wings, beef brisket and sides like cornbread and smoked baked beans. And Pat’s Rib Place’s brown brown sauce and house sauce were named some of Oprah Winfrey’s Favorite Things in the December 2020 issues of magazine.

The new Public Market location will be located between West Allis Cheese and Sausage Shoppe and St. Paul Fish Company, with about 600 square feet of space. Food service starts each day at 11:00 a.m.

“This is an exciting moment for the public market,” said Paul Schwartz, executive director of the Milwaukee Public Market and Business Improvement District #2, in a press release. “The market was created as a gathering place which cultivates an experience that’s rich in culture, food and people.  Pat’s renowned products and service will no doubt enhance that experience in every way.”
