A rustic wedding ceremony

A Cream City Couple Could Win $6,500 for a Dream Wedding

The prize money will come from three companies, and can be used on flowers, photography, hair and makeup.

Egregiously expensive weddings are starting to feel as inevitable as death and taxes. According to a survey on wedding super-site The Knot, the average U.S. wedding clocked in at $35,329 in 2016.

But in 2018, one local couple will be able to cut $6,500 from their total ceremony cost. Three Milwaukee companies – Flowers for Dreams, Wide Eyed Beauty and Uttke Photography and Design – are teaming up to offer one local couple a veritable bouquet of services. Specifically, $3,000 for floral arrangements from Flowers for Dreams, $2,500 for photography services from Uttke Photography and Design and $1,000 for hair and makeup from Wide Eyed Beauty.

“We have been extremely thankful to the Milwaukee community for embracing us since we opened this year, and we thought what better way to show our thanks than to make a couple’s wedding dreams come true,” says Flowers for Dreams Marketing Manager Lindsay Leinenkugel. “We look forward to reading all of the wonderful and inspiring applicant love stories, found only in Milwaukee.”

For a chance to be awarded the prize money, brides and grooms to-be have to meet two requirements. One, they must be getting married in 2018. And two, they must be looking for a venue in Southeastern Wisconsin.

To apply, eligible couples must complete an application, explaining what makes their love so special, by December 25 – they’ll find out who won on New Year’s Day.
