"The Circle" featured Milwaukee's skyline and now we plan to binge watch the show.

Have you heard of the Netflix reality television show “The Circle?” Neither had we, but that’s probably because the series only just launched on New Year’s Day.

If you find time to Netflix and chill, this could be a must-see for any Milwaukee native. Before you do that though, here’s some context about the show so you know what you’re getting yourself into. Think of a mix between “Big Brother” and “Catfish” where contestants live together, yet never come face-to-face, and compete to be the top online social influencer. Tactics for players to win involve flirting, falsely befriending and manipulation in order to gain top social status.

What’s the incentive? The final contestant win’s the game and a grand prize of $100,000.

I know what you’re thinking, what does this have to do with our beloved Milwaukee? Not much, but aerial shots of the U.S. Bank Center, City Hall, along with establishing shots of the Third Ward are all part of the opening scenes, even though the show was not shot in Brew City.

This may not seem like that big of a deal, but it is to us. It’s a big deal! So, your next free night, make sure to wrap yourself in a cozy blanket and pull up “The Circle” on Netflix so you can enjoy views of the city that you call home, while inside your home.
