Milwaukee Rep Announces First Season in Renovated Theater

A big Broadway musical and an ‘Agatha Christie Festival’ will be part of the Rep’s 2025-2026 season.

After months of construction and $80.1 million raised, the Milwaukee Rep’s Associated Bank Theater Center is set to open this fall during its 2025-2026 season. The first show in the flagship Checota Powerhouse Theater? A large-scale, award-winning Broadway musical.

Come From Away – about lives converging at a Newfoundland airport in the immediate aftermath of 9/11 – is just one of the 12 shows the Rep announced on Monday.

The 72nd season also includes McNeal – an AI-tackling drama from Wisconsinite and Pulitzer Prize winner Ayad Akhtar – opening the revamped Herro-Franke Studio Theater, and an “Agatha Christie Festival,” featuring Powerhouse productions of Mrs. Christie, an original play by Heidi Armbruster, and And Then There Were None, based on Christie’s best-selling novel.

It’s time to pick your Milwaukee favorites for the year!

The 2025-2026 season will run from late October to mid-June – later than its usual September-to-May schedule to accommodate the construction.

The renovated Associated Bank Theater Center broke ground last May, and it will include a new glass building connecting the three renovated theaters outfitted with updated technology, production flexibility, accessibility and amenities. The complex will also feature the new Herzfeld Foundation Education & Engagement Center, with classrooms and performance spaces to support the Rep’s education programs.
