This is a great get for the local movie scene, and it continues the trend that the Pabst Theater Group has established over 2016 so far of bringing unique cinema-based events to our classiest local venues. We’ve already had Christopher Lloyd come to town with Back to the Future, and we have Neil DeGrasse Tyson’s upcoming ‘An Astrophysicist Goes to the Movies’ program on May 11 as well as The Godfather Live on May 20 and legendary director John Carpenter performing some of his classic cinema scores on July 18.

This is a righteous development for cinema fans in need of a little something extra to encourage them to get out of the house to see classic films. And while the Blazing Saddles screening is reason enough for excitement in and of itself, once you factor in a career-spanning Q&A with Mel Brooks (creator of such other classic entertainments like Young Frankenstein, Spaceballs, History of the World: Part I & The Producers) this becomes a must-see event. Yes to more unique events, Pabst Theater Group!
