Meet the Winner of Milwaukee Magazine’s Cutest Dog Contest

Lamb Chop isn’t just cute, she’s doing important work in our community.

The day has come. After many long nights spent sifting through 125 entries, judging cuddliness probabilities, median adorableness and fuzziness differentials, we at Milwaukee Magazine have finally found the winner of the Cutest Dog Contest sponsored by Wilde Subaru.

And her name is Lamb Chop.

Lamb Chop made it through three rounds of judging: an initial round to narrow the field to 50, a public online poll to determine the top five and finally a panel of Elite Cuteness Judges from Milwaukee Magazine and Wilde Subaru that selected the final winner.

Lamb Chop was rescued from a Wisconsin puppy mill and is now owned by Christin Schubert, of Wauwatosa. She is a part of the Wisconsin Bailing Out Benji team, a nonprofit that works to end puppy mills through research, education and advocacy.

According to our most recent data, Lamb Chop is a very good dog, and you can see more of her in Milwaukee Magazine’s June/July double issue, where she’ll be featured.

Lamb Chop will also receive two prize packages – one from Bark N Scratch Outpost and one from Charlee Bear Dog Treats – both valued at over $100 and overflowing with a wide selection of carefully curated canine confections.

The Bark N Scratch package includes: Ziwipeak air dried food, Fresh Is Best Freeze dried food, Best Breed Pet Food, Stella and Chewy’s Treats, and $30 gift card to Bark N Scratch Outpost.

Charlee Bear’s package includes four treat bags: Bearnola Bites, Meaty Bites, Original Crunch and Grain Free Crunch.

And here are our top five pictured below: Bennie, Berkeley, Rori, Lamb Chop and Floyd.

The cuteness has overwhelmed us, and we now need to go take a mineral bath and eat some unsalted cashews to recover. But before that, we’d like to especially thank Wilde Subaru for sponsoring this contest and helping us pick out our final winner.

And check out our most recent MilMag Live conversation, where at the end editor-in-chief Carole Nicksin speaks with Schubert about her contest-winning pride and joy.
