Since 2019 humanworks8 has been “bringing work to life and life to work.” The team helps companies across the state to improve company culture and build sustainable people practices.

Their approach, guided by “The 8” fundamental truths about people, improves client outcomes in the areas of talent discovery, strategic planning, teamwork, communication, performance management, leadership development, transition and change, and belonging.

“We help organizations build their people and culture strategy,” says Shawn Gulyas, founder. “It’s about taking intentional actions around those eight truths.”

The team at humanworks8 pushes back on the idea that you can have a strong business without a people-centric model. In the age of artificial intelligence and employment instability, Gulyas says you still need great people in order to have good AI. “You can add all the technology layers you want, but you still need really good humans, and then you need to think well of those people and help them grow.”

The team at humanworks8 works with companies across the metro Milwaukee area, including Miron Construction, Auer Steel, Indian Community School and the Zoological Society of Milwaukee.

“Culture doesn’t happen with the flip of a switch,” says Sarah Marshall, a co-founder. “We don’t come in to introduce a topic and then suddenly everything is different. We build long-term relationships, working on multiple facets of businesses. Seeing our clients grow and change with time has been really rewarding.”
