Celebrate Milwaukee’s future with music, technology and more this weekend.
This weekend, aspiring artists, engineers and inventors will bring their art, games and knowledge to Milwaukee’s East Side at the first ever Fall Experiment. The festival will take place Saturday, Sept. 22, at three east-side locations: UWM Peck School of the Arts, the famous Black Cat Alley and The Back Room at Colectivo. Their aim? To let you experience the future of Milwaukee. (It’s basically Milwaukee’s answer to SXSW.)
Attendees can see what it’s like to be a DJ, learn how a cartoon show is made and more, with hands-on activities in each of four realms: technology, music, film and art. Offerings include virtual reality, tech talks, gaming simulations and, of course, food. A variety of food trucks will be on location from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. Workshops range from “Introduction to Electronic Music” to “Predictive Wine Tasting” to “Designing the Future of Milwaukee.” Get the full lineup of events on the Fall Experiment website.
Alongside the workshops will be live musical performances at Colectivo and a mural show at Black Cat Alley. Artists will be available to answer questions and to talk about their work.
Though this event is free, it is recommended that you register in advance.
