Over 40 years ago, Bruce Nemovitz spoke to a group of seniors considering leaving their longtime family home for a new space better fit to their age and lifestyle. The real estate agent saw a way he could help older adults and their families during this life-changing transition, and the conversation kicked off a decades-long career helping seniors find their new homes. Today Nemovitz, the founder of Bruce’s Team, has worked with over 3,000 seniors.

“During COVID, many people who would have moved were staying put,” says Nemovitz. “We are seeing that many of them have finally decided it’s time to either cash in on the incredible appreciation of their home or are considering moving for health reasons.”

Data from Bruce’s Team surveys have shown that the primary hesitation seniors face when thinking about making a big move is the fear of change. “It can paralyze decision-making to the point where people put off this decision for years,” says Nemovitz.
