When Ruvin Bros. Artisans & Trades was founded in 1989, the company needed someone to provide materials for its projects. The fledgling Wisconsin homebuilder quickly found the right partner – Bliffert Lumber. While Ruvin Bros. was still a relative rookie in the industry, Bliffert was long-established. It was founded more than 100 years earlier, growing from one small supply store on the North Side of Milwaukee to more than a dozen locations across Wisconsin.
That first business deal became the foundation of a partnership that continues to thrive today.
With Bliffert’s vast selection of high-quality materials and Ruvin Bros.’ design expertise, the two are responsible for hundreds of exceptional home projects.
Over three decades, Ruvin Bros. has evolved into a full-service design and build company. It handles everything from new home design and construction management to remodeling and additions. And in 2023, Ruvin Bros. added a specialized design division called Black Mulberry Interiors.
“We have a great team,” says Tony Enea, Ruvin Bros. CEO and owner who has been with the company since 1992. “Many of our people have been here for many years, and we bring that experience and expertise to every project.”
Since ’89, Bliffert has provided Ruvin Bros. with lumber, windows, trim and even engineering expertise. The sixth-generation, family-owned company is a trusted partner and a resource. “The Bliffert staff are incredibly knowledgeable and helpful,” Enea says. “Instead of consulting multiple people and specialists from different companies, we often just go to Bliffert.”
One of Ruvin’s most recent major home builds relied on Bliffert for all the lumber used in the frame, the windows, the decking and roof trusses, and engineering consultation.
