For nearly a century, locally and family-owned BILTRITE has been helping customers throughout Wisconsin furnish their homes with affordable, better-quality furniture and mattresses with personalized service.

Founded in 1928 by Irwin Kerns as a custom upholstery shop in Milwaukee, BILTRITE is now led by the third and fourth generations and has grown into Wisconsin’s largest single-store furniture and mattress retailer. They operate a 45,000-square-foot showroom in Greenfield with thousands of items in stock, plus 500 mattresses.

BILTRITE specializes in stylish American and Amish-made furniture, hard-to-find two-sided/flip-able mattresses, and custom options from more than 70 builders and manufacturers, including Wisconsin’s largest selection of Amish-made furniture. Customers will find a variety of styles of furniture for every room in their home, plus home décor including rugs, lamps, artwork and complimentary in-store design services.

In 2023, BILTRITE was named Retailer of the Year by the Home Furnishings Association, becoming the first and only Wisconsin retailer to receive the national honor. The store has also earned multiple “Best Place to Shop” awards.

“We are honored to continue our family’s legacy,” says Randi K., a fourth-generation family member at BILTRITE. “For 98 years, our mission has remained the same: offering affordable, better-quality products while treating our customers and team like family.”

BILTRITE is known for its unique family-friendly schedule, including closing on Sundays to be with family and friends. On Mondays, the showroom is closed while the team works hard behind the scenes, and in-home delivery is available. BILTRITE is open Tuesday through Saturday and select holiday Mondays.
