It may be just a few weeks into the New Year, but this overly raunchy and preposterous teen comedy may already be a contender for the worst movie of the year. In Youth in Revolt, Cera essentially plays Michael Cera, the same tender geek he is in all his roles. Here he plays Nick Twisp, a teen who supposedly falls in love with the ostentatious Sheeni (Doubleday) during a family vacation and then subsequently creates a rebellious French alter ego named Francois to impress her. Though the cast is bursting with talented and funny actors like Zach Galifianakis, Ray Liotta and Steve Buscemi, Revolt is void of any humor mostly due to its overly pretentious dialogue.
