My how the time flies. It seems like just yesterday the anticipation for warm weather, cold bee, and Summerfest to finally arrive were driving us mad. Now we’re all sunburned, hung over and eagerly looking forward to hearing what next year’s lineup has in store for us.
And while this year’s Fest seems destined to be remembered for its faults the stabbing on Friday night, the genitalia-frenzied Wiz Khalifa crowd and the disastrous Rock ‘n Sole half-marathon, there were plenty of amazing performances, severe farmer tans and unparalleled people-watching moments that will stay with us forever. In case you missed any of it, here’s a recap of the Music Notes coverage of the Big Gig 2011.

Funny Juggling: Is It Really Funny?
This hot-button debate raged over the two-week run. Friendships were damaged beyond repair, careers put on the line, and grown men reduced to tears as we wrestled with the age-old question: Is funny juggling really funny?
The verdict: No, not really.
The Adventures of Tyler Maas
From out of the gates, our intrepid Red Bull-swilling concert lover Tyler was out-and-about giving you his firsthand impressions of the sights and sounds that make Summerfest, well, Summerfest. Whether covering his favorite solo artist, Holland Oats, or spending the day focusing his attention on local bands, Tyler kept us informed and entertained. And maybe, just maybe, we learned a little something about ourselves in the process. Maybe Tyler learned a little about himself as he revisted his youth by reviewing the band Alkaline Trio.
Concert Reviews and Photos Galore
With more than 700 bands to see over the two-week period, it was physically impossible for you to see them all. With that in mind, Music Notes’ own Cristina Daglas took it upon herself to provide you with reviews and photos of some of the Fest’s biggest shows so you could sound legit when you told your co-workers you were there.
There were the hits, like Kanye West’s epic throwdown at the Marcus Ampitheater, the misses, like Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros forgettable performance and the stripped-down subtlety of Britney’s resurrection. Plus the fun of Jason Mraz, Maroon 5 and Marley.
