Monday, June 18: Lady Cannon with Union Specific @ Down and Over Pub, 9 p.m.
Despite its short, underappreciated lifespan, the Bay View Brew Haus still lives on after being purchased by Tim Brodersen of the East Side’s Up and Under Pub. And though the name on the sign is new, the ambiance and solid performance space remains intact. And with acts like Lady Cannon still gracing the stage, it’s as if the old girl never left us. (2535 S. Kinnickinnic Ave.)
Also: Saint Christopher with Derek Dunn and Henry Berger @ Frank’s Power Plant, 9:30 p.m. ($5)

Wednesday, June 20: Mount Carmel with Space Collector and Magnetic Minds @ Cactus Club, 9 p.m.
Columbus, Ohio, power trio Mount Carmel often draws comparisons to the classic rockers it seems to worship: Cream, Hendrix, etc. But the bluesy rockers somehow manage to steer clear of simple rehashed tribute band or cheesy house blues band status, instead finding a way to wear their influences on their sleeve and still stay modern. Also: Chris Duarte Group with Mojo Perry Band @ Shank Hall, 8 p.m. ($15)
(1434 N. Farwell Ave., ShankHall.com)
Thursday, June 21: Eric Hutchinson with Avalanche City @ Turner Hall, 7 p.m. ($15)
At his worst, Eric Hutchinson resembles just another in a string of singer-songwriters who write catchy tunes, develop large internet followings and bore the life out of everyone who is not a 13-year old girl. But at his best, Hutchinson channels older, more soulful influences with his electric and expansive voice. (1032 N. 4th St., PabstTheater.org)

(2501 S. Superior St., ClubGaribaldis.com)

Friday, June 22: Elusive Parallelograms with Worrier, Red Stuff and Moss Folk @ Cactus Club, 10 p.m.
Elusive Parallelograms has become one of the most active, prolific bands on the local scene today. Hot on the heels of its solid February release HABITS, the band is right back at it releasing its new EP Spaces with a blowout at the Cactus Club. (2496 S. Wentworth Ave., CactusClubMilwaukee.com)

MUSIC NOTES SHOW OF THE WEEK
Saturday, June 23: Summer Soulstice Music Festival featuring Maritime, I’m Not A Pilot, Herman Astro and more @ North Avenue (between Prospect and Oakland), Noon (FREE)
Now we all know how great Milwaukee summers are. Thousands of people come out of their winter hibernation and stream into the streets to fill their cheeks with beer, sausage and cream puffs before the winter chill inevitably settles back across the land. The best side effect of this is the free music festival, and this weekend is a great one. The artistry and music of the East Side will be on full display, including such big time local names as Maritime, Herman Astro and Celebrated Workingman among many, many others. (TheEastSide.org)

Sunday, June 24: Bass Drum Of Death with DZ Deathrays and Head On Electric @ Cactus Club, 9 p.m.
Mississippi-based Bass Drum Of Death likes to keep it loud and dirty. The filthy garage punk outfit writes about what it knows (drugs, depression and gravity bongs) and does it emphatically. The Cactus Club should provide a perfect backdrop for the duo’s high energy, ear-throbbing attack. (2496 S. Wentworth Ave., CactusClubMilwaukee.com)
