“…inspiring and compelling…” Pete Hammond, Boxoffice Magazine
“Looks and tastes an awful lot like a TV movie of the week.” Marjorie Baumgarten, Austin Chronicle
Far from Extraordinary, this sappy and predictable drama is rather average. Fraser plays John Crowley, a successful businessman whose two young children (Meredith Droeger and Diego Velazquez) are diagnosed with a rare and fatal genetic disorder. Desperately searching for a cure, John teams up with Robert Stonehill (Ford), a hard-edged, unconventional scientist to develop a life-saving drug. While Ford is one-dimensional as an overly rough grouch, Fraser is excellent as the devoted father who will stop at nothing. In fact, you’d be heartless not to be affected by the selflessness of John and his wife, Aileen (Russell,) and by the thought of losing your children; yet, Extraordinary Measures doesn’t rise above cloying, unrealistic melodrama.
