7 Things to Do This Weekend in Milwaukee: Oct. 9-11

This weekend there are many spooktacular events and more.

1. Virtual Stargazing

FRIDAY 7-7:45 P.M. | VIRTUAL

Milwaukee Public Museum is hosting a virtual stargazing tour led by Planetarium Director Bob Bonadurer. The tour will take viewers through the approaching Harvest Moon, the close approach of Mars and the conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn. The tour is a perfect kid family event for the whole family to participate in with tickets $10 per household.

2. Riverside Theater Ghost Tours

FRIDAY-SUNDAY 7-11:45 P.M. | PABST/RIVERSIDE/TURNER HALL

“The Riverside Theater is best known for two things: amazing shows and being one of the most haunted places in Wisconsin,” according to the Riverside Theater. The ghost tours feature a wide range of opportunities to hear stories from staff, patrons and professional ghost hunters, along with reports of paranormal activity from the past 91 years. There are two tour options available for those who like a good spine-shivering spook consisting of a Riverside Theater Ghost Tour and The Late Night Ghost Hunt. For those who are interested, there are even private tours and ghost hunts available.

3. Ex Fabula Presents: Story Starter Workshop

SATURDAY 1-3 P.M. | VIRTUAL

Do you struggle with storytelling or with how to begin your stories? Ex Fabula, an organization focusing on “Connecting Milwaukee through real stories” is here to help with their Story Starter Workshop. Led by experienced coaches, you’ll be coached on how to skillfully craft your stories and engage your audience. Not to mention it’s a great way to boost one’s confidence when public speaking!

4. Virtual Tour of Havenwoods

SATURDAY 6 P.M. | VIRTUAL

Want to explore the city without leaving home? This weekend you can take a virtual tour of the Havenwoods Neighborhood. In the tour, participants can check out Cream City Boxing, The Farm, the Design Build Firm Three Sixty MKE, the 5XEN Asian Market and the Havenwoods public mural project. 

5. Discovery World Ignite the Spark Virtual Gala

SATURDAY 7-10 P.M. | VIRTUAL

This Saturday, Discovery World will be live streaming their Ignite the Spark Virtual Gala. The virtual fundraising event is a perfect example of putting to use technology and innovation – a great reflection of the center’s mission to inspire technology and innovation in future generations. This year, the annual fundraising celebration will highlight the reality of science during a global pandemic.

6. Brady Street Ghost Walk

SATURDAY 7:30-9 P.M. | 1801 N. PROSPECT AVE.

Did you know Brady Street is haunted? Learn all about the haunted road with stories from local businesses and the history behind the buildings themselves. It’s Halloween fun right in your own backyard!

7. RSVR-Virtual Haunted House

SATURDAY 9-11 P.M. | VIRTUAL 

Milwaukee’s RSVR virtual reality bar wants to celebrate Halloween with you. Head on out to the bar for the scariest virtual reality games around to get your scare on. While you’re at it, enjoy their bonfire pit and have some cider.
