8 Events to Make Sure the Cold Doesn't Ruin Your Weekend: Nov. 14-17

If you’re not going to let the cold and the snow stand between you and a great weekend in Milwaukee, here’s eight things to do.

Veterans Day Parade

Join the community in honoring and remembering our veterans on a parade at the War Memorial. In addition, there will be displays, performances and a memorial service at the reflecting pool.

Saturday, displays and performances begin at 9. Memorial service begins at 10:45. Parade begins at 11. Milwaukee County War Memorial Center, 750 N Lincoln Memorial Dr.

Jingle Bell Run

Whether you’re a regular charity runner or looking to shave some guilt off your upcoming Thanksgiving feast, the Jingle Bell Run is still accepting day-of registrations to run. The event raises funds for arthritis treatment and research.

Harvest Gathering

Leave the kitchen knives at home, the sharpest thing you need to bring to this interactive culinary experience is a mind ready to learn! Bring friends to enjoy a delicious meal cooked tableside by a local top chef with your help. All proceeds will support the American Liver Foundation.

Big Brass Blast

Join the Salvation Army in launching this year’s iconic red kettle campaign at the Big Brass Blast at Southridge Mall. Brass musicians from all around Milwaukee will come together to play everyone’s holiday favorites live, free of charge.

Buster-Con Toy Show

We talk a lot most weekends about where to get trendy artisan goods for your holiday shopping, but where do you get that perfect pop culture collectible for the nerd(s) in your life? Look no further than the eighth Buster-Con Toy Show in Kenosha, where you can browse a wide variety of pop culture paraphernalia from comics and toys to action figures and fan art.
