7 Things to Do in Milwaukee This Weekend: Jan. 29-31

Farmers markets, interactive livestreams and an ’80s costume contest – all in MKE this weekend.

1. Marietta Cellars Virtual Wine Tasting

JANUARY 29 AT 7 P.M. | ONLINE

Stop by Vino Third Ward (219 E. Erie St.) to buy any or all three of the featured wines for this Zoom wine tasting. When you stop by to pick up the wine, you will also be provided the link for the tasting. The featured wines are an OVR old Vine Red Blend for $18, a Roman Zinfandel for $22 and an Arme Cabernet Sauvignon for $25. If you purchase all three, you get a discount and can have the full experience for $60.

2. Escape from Peligro Island

JANUARY 29 AT 7 P.M., JANUARY 30 AT 1 P.M. AND 3:30 P.M. | ONLINE

Follow the young hero Callaway Brown, stranded on a desert island, and make decisions to see how you might fare in a similar situation. The audience can vote on the hero’s next decision in this live, interactive choose-your-own-adventure performance. You use your phone to vote during the livestream, and if you miss the action, you can watch a recorded version of the previous performance. Register online to purchase the tickets for $12 for two viewers, $22 for four viewers or $37 for five or more viewers.

3. St. Matthias Parish Food Drive

JANUARY 30 AT 8-11 A.M. | 9300 W. BELOIT RD.

The Knights of Columbus Council are hosting a food drive to benefit the St. Vincent de Paul food pantry. They’re accept toilet paper, canned goods, boxed goods meats, pasta and many other foods. Stop by for your daily good deed.

4. Milwaukee Winter Farmers Market

JANUARY 30 AT 8:30 A.M. | 524 S. LAYTON BLVD.

Get your winter produce and local goods from the Winter Farmers Market at the Mitchell Park Domes. Over thirty local vendors are selling baked goods, honey, meats, cheese, grains, handmade soaps and more. Face masks are required, and they do not accept gaiters or bandanas. One customer will be allowed in each booth at a time. There is a limit of 150 people so make sure you swing by before the crowds.

5. Third Space Brewing 2021 Ice Bear Fest (DIY Edition)

JANUARY 30 AT 12 P.M. | ONLINE

If you are in love with skiing and the unmatched swagger of a one-piece neon snowsuit, then be sure to celebrate Ice Bear Fest. 6. Xtreme Hip-Hop with Charmyse

JANUARY 30 AT 1 P.M. | 2612 S. GREELEY ST. 

Get up and get moving with this hip-hop class. The class uses a revitalization of traditional step aerobics set to all styles of hip hop. Steps will be provided, and the in-person class costs $10 or $15 to purchase a face shield from the instructor. Face masks or face shields are required. Class opens ten minutes early at Safe and Strong Fitness, Suite 220.

7. Karaoke in Space

JANUARY 30 AT 9 P.M. | 4553 S. 13TH ST.

Layton Heights bar and grill is hosting a space-themed karaoke night where you can strut your stuff for only $1 a song. Watch your friends and complete strangers try their hands at the mic, while enjoying fifty cent wings.
