5 Things to Do in Milwaukee This Weekend That Don’t Involve a Crowd: May 1-3

Here are a few things to keep you entertained this weekend.

1. Milwaukee-Wide Window Sing-Along

If you open up your window at 7 p.m. on Saturday, there’s a decent chance you’ll hear some of your neighbors belting out Aretha Franklin’s 1967 hit “Respect.” Why not sing along?

2. Retro Dance Party

A livestreamed Periscope dance party DJ’d by James Freshluggage is going to be a Friday-night. A link for a virtual tip jar is provided on the Facebook event page.

3. UPAF Facebook Live Performances

Tune in to the United Performing Arts Fund’s Facebook page to hear one of the local performing arts groups that it works with to deliver a live, virtual performance.

4. Visit a Wisconsin State Park

Starting Friday, 34 State Parks are opening in Wisconsin. Notably, Lakeshore State Park along Milwaukee’s shoreline will be opening Friday along with Kettle Moraine Southern Unit, Lapham Peak, Harrington Beach, Interstate and Havenwoods. There will be capacity limits.

5. Complete a Local Craft Kit

Help a local art studio or boutique by ordering a craft kit. They are a creative way to pass some time away from screens.
