5 Things to Do in Milwaukee This Week: July 13-16

A traveling beer garden, Christmas in July and the Milwaukee Art Museum’s reopening this week in Milwaukee.

1. “This Is Milwaukee Talking”

MONDAY, JULY 13 FROM 7-8 P.M.

This is the ninth installment of the “This is Milwaukee” project’s online conversations. “This Is Milwaukee” is a project seeking to capture the spirit of Milwaukee through intimate interviews with Milwaukeeans, and in this online series, some of their interviewees return to continue the conversation. This week, panelists will be Kellen “Klassik” Abston, Nyesha Stone and Markasa Tucker. Part discussion, part hangout, this is the perfect way to reconnect with the city. The event is free, but space is limited, so sign up to secure your spot.

2. Yoga in the Garden

TUESDAY, JULY 14 AT 6 P.M.

This free outdoor yoga class is hosted by Alice’s Garden Urban Farm. Enjoy the spiritual and physical benefits of yoga while breathing in the fresh farm air.

3. The Traveling Beer Garden at Lake Park

WEDNESDAY, JULY 15 FROM 5-10 P.M.

Milwaukee’s Traveling Beer Garden is a restored fire truck converted to a tavern on wheels serving Sprecher Brewery drinks and delicious snacks. It rotates through Milwaukee’s parks, and now it’s headed to Lake Park. It’ll be there for three weeks, but there’s no better time to grab a drink than opening day. Plus, all proceeds go toward Milwaukee County parks.

4. A Christmas Carol: Raw(ish)

WEDNESDAY, JULY 15 FROM 7-10 P.M.

Do you miss theater? Do you miss drunk theater? How about seasonally inappropriate theater? Well, Boozy Bard Productions has you covered with this Christmas in July special. The performers will be putting on “A Christmas Carol” over Zoom with next to no preparation, and you can watch it all unfold for free on Facebook Live.

5. Milwaukee Art Museum Reopening

THURSDAY, JULY 16 FROM 9:30 A.M.-5 P.M.

This crown jewel of Milwaukee is reopening its doors with new health and safety protocols in place. Even better, the museum is offering free admission for the first month! Check out its website for more details.
