3 New Things Coming to Milwaukee This February

3 New Things Coming to Milwaukee This February

A pottery studio, new synth-punk EP, and a thrilling sports book are coming to Milwaukee this month.

1. Hyenas

Local four-piece band Brave You dishes up synth-punk with a side of emo. Their first release in three years, out now, swims deeper into the melancholy that washes their hefty guitar riffs.

2. Plate Collective Pottery Studio

Dishware has long been the domain of ceramicist Kate Riley, whose work tops the tables of many local restaurants. Now, she’s opened her own pottery studio offering workshops and private sculpting and painting sessions.

3. American Birkebeiner

Thousands descend upon Hayward, Wisconsin, every year for the largest cross-country ski marathon in the nation. This book by Eau Claire author Jerome Poling chronicles over 50 years of races with photos, profiles and behind-the-scenes looks – read it ahead of this year’s Birkie on Feb. 21.
