Concerts, car shows, dance parties, makers markets and much more fill this weekend!

1. A Beautiful Noise: The Neil Diamond Musical 

ALL WEEKEND | MARCUS PERFORMING ARTS CENTER

Watch the true story of Neil Diamond’s rise to stardom set to the songs that have defined his career, like “Forever in Blue Jeans” and “Sweet Caroline.” The musical was created in collaboration with Diamond and is embarking on a tour across the country, with tickets to the Marcus Center showing available all weekend.

2. Twist & Shout: The Music of The Beatles 

ALL WEEKEND | BRADLEY SYMPHONY CENTER

The Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra’s celebration of The Beatles will feature the band’s early hits that sparked Beatlemania like “I Want to Hold Your Hand,” “All You Need Is Love,” “A Hard Day’s Night” and many more, along with rare and unseen photos of the Fab Four. Tickets are available online.  

3. Adepticon 

ALL WEEKEND | BAIRD CENTER

This convention features over 1250 miniature wargaming-themed events, including tabletop games, seminars and more. Explore new games and demos from over 125 exhibitors, too. It’s too late for pre-registration, but you can register for convention events in-person at the Baird Center as early as Thursday.

4. AfroVibez

FRIDAY AT 9 P.M. | FREIGHT 38

Feel the good vibes at this Afro-cultural dance party with three DJs playing Afrobeats all night long. Reserve your spot online now. (This event is for ages 21 and up.) 

5. Gardens & Gears Steampunk Faire

SATURDAY FROM 9 A.M.-4 P.M. | MITCHELL PARK DOMES

Live out a steampunk fantasy at the Domes this Saturday, featuring unique vendors, Steampunk authors and creators, live entertainment and even steam trains. Admission is included with the entry fee to the Domes.

6. Caffeine & Chrome 

SATURDAY FROM 9 A.M.-NOON | GATEWAY CLASSIC CARS OF MILWAUKEE

Get your caffeine fix and check out some classic rides at this free, family-friendly car show. Pastries and coffee are available while supplies last.

7. Phenomenal Woman Marketplace

SATURDAY FROM 1-6 P.M. | AMERICA’S BLACK HOLOCAUST MUSEUM

End Women’s History Month with this free pop-up marketplace celebrating the history of women in business. Shop local small businesses, enjoy hourly giveaways and attend live spoken word performances. This event also includes free entry into the museum.

8. Slayground MKE: Rawr

SATURDAY AT 10 P.M. | THE MIRAMAR THEATRE

Slayground’s latest dance party celebrates the neon zebra print and raccoon tails of the mid-2000s. The party practically doubles as a fashion show – looks are demanded! This event is for ages 18 and up – tickets are available online

9. Creepy Crawly Day  

SATURDAY FROM 11 A.M.-3 P.M. | MILWAUKEE PUBLIC MUSEUM  

Embrace the emergent bugs of spring this Saturday with interactive stations throughout the museum at this all-ages event. There’s something for everyone: story time for the young ones and edible insects for the brave. This event is included with admission to the museum.

10. LGBTQ+ Makers Market

SATURDAY FROM 11 A.M.-6 P.M. | MILWAUKEE LGBT COMMUNITY CENTER

Peruse handmade goods, jewelry, clothing and more from local LGBTQ+ creators at the Milwaukee LGBT Community Center’s first makers market. Find that perfect gift and support local entrepreneurs at the free event.

11. Wax Carving: Make a Cast Silver Ring 

SATURDAY FROM 1-4 P.M. | 6429 W. NORTH AVE.

Discover the lost art of wax casting and create your own ring (or two!) at this workshop hosted by a local goldsmith and jewelry designer. Students will be guided in using different techniques to create their custom ring to be later cast in sterling silver. This workshop costs $250 – you can sign up online

12. Tiki Takedown

SATURDAY AT 1 P.M. | TURNER HALL BALLROOM

Take a break from the chilly weather and warm up with tropical drinks and sunny music at the fifth annual Tiki Takedown. Local establishments show off their craft cocktail skills with original tiki drinks, letting the guests decide the winner. Tickets for this event start at $20 and are available online.

13. Winterlude at The Villa

SUNDAY FROM 11 A.M.-12:30 P.M. | VILLA TERRACE DECORATIVE ARTS MUSEUM

Spend your Sunday morning at the beautiful Villa Terrace for its last winter music event, featuring a local violist and pianist. You can also enjoy coffee, tea and pastries. Tickets are $40 and are available online.  

14. Fox & Branch

SUNDAY FROM 11 A.M.-NOON | ANODYNE COFFEE ROASTING CO. WALKER’S POINT

Parents, this folk duo is a favorite with kids! See Dave Fox and Will Branch perform at Anodyne’s Walker’s Point location at their free concert.

15. Women’s Month Revelry!

SUNDAY AT 1 P.M. | THE SUGAR MAPLE

Sip on something from The Sugar Maple’s extensive tap list at this afternoon drag performance featuring three performers. Tickets for the show are $15 and available online. A portion of the ticket proceeds support the Forward Please Project. There’s a free after-party, too, featuring live body art, local vendors and a food truck.
