1. Fred Usinger Day 2024

FRIDAY FROM 8 A.M.-8 P.M. | OLD GERMAN BEER HALL

Celebrate the 17th annual Fred Usinger Day with free brats and beer. Old German Beer Hall is hosting an all-day celebration with a lineup of music and a live broadcast with Mindy’s Midday Show (102.9 The Hog). They’ll be serving up free bratwurst starting at 8 a.m., and free beer will be served by Frederick “Fritz” Usinger IV at 6 p.m. – while supplies last.

2. “Celebrating Our Shared Roots”

FRIDAY FROM 10:30 A.M.-7:30 P.M. | LATINO ARTS GALLERY

Friday is your last chance to view “Celebrating Our Shared Roots” at the Latino Arts Gallery, located inside the United Community Center. The exhibit showcases art-making traditions and mediums from throughout Mexico and first nations tribes. No reservation or ticket purchase is required, but Latino Arts suggests a $1 donation per person.

3. Beto O’Rourke

FRIDAY FROM 6:30-8 P.M. | MILWAUKEE PUBLIC LIBRARY – CENTENNIAL HALL

Join Beto O’Rourke, former Texas congressman and founder of the voting rights and voter registration organization Powered by People, for a talk about safeguarding democracy and voting rights. Following the discussion, O’Rourke will be signing copies of his book, We’ve Got to Try. Books will be available for purchase at this free event. Register here.

4. Candlelight Concert: Coldplay X Imagine Dragons

FRIDAY FROM 6:30-8:30 P.M. | ST. JAMES 1868

At the Coldplay X Imagine Dragons candlelight concert this Friday, musicians will play favorite tunes in the atmospheric St. James 1868. Concertgoers must be 8 years or older to attend, and anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Tickets are priced at $40 for a first come, first seated zone.

5. Lulu’s Wish

SATURDAY AT 1 P.M. | BRADLEY SYMPHONY CENTER

Join Make-A-Wish Wisconsin in granting its 8,000th wish for 18-year-old Lulu. Her grand entrance will be at 12:15 p.m. in the lobby of Bradley Symphony Center, followed by a performance with the Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra – her wish while living with an autoimmune disorder. Tickets to support Lulu at the Founders Concert are available online.

6. Beer at the Bank: A Brew City Beer Fest

SATURDAY FROM 1-4 P.M. | 910 N. DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. DR. 

Enjoy three hours of unlimited pours from local brewers at this festival that benefits the Milwaukee County Historical Society. Tickets also include an etched “Brew City” beer glass. Food trucks will be available as well. 

7. 2024 Urban Candlelight Hike

SATURDAY FROM 5:30-8 P.M. | THREE BRIDGES PARK

Hike over one mile of candlelit trails and warm up by toasty campfires found on your journey through Hank Aaron State Trail and Three Bridges Park on the 7th annual Urban Candlelight Hike. Grab a bite from a food truck and enjoy $5 Happy Place pints at Third Space Brewing before, after or during the hike. Free tickets are available here.

8. Admirals vs. Wolves

SATURDAY AT 6 P.M. | UW-MILWAUKEE PANTHER ARENA

The Milwaukee Admirals face off against the Chicago Wolves at the UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena on Saturday evening. The team currently has a 17-game winning streak, one of the best regular season marks for professional sports teams in the state. And with a ticket, you can stay for a Jackson Dean post-game concert.

9. Canni Infusion Bar’s Smoke & Paint

SATURDAY AT 7 P.M. | CANNI INFUSION BAR

Canni Infusion Bar is hosting an evening of painting, cannabis-infused treats and handcrafted beverages. Milwaukee artist Dom White will lead the class. Tickets are $30 and include all supplies. 

10. Masood Boomgaard

SATURDAY AT 8 P.M. | VIVARIUM

Meet Self-help Singh, the alter ego of international comedian Masood Boomgaard, on Saturday night at Pabst Theater Group’s newest venue: Vivarium. The man described as a comedic alternative life coach and de-motivational speaker is in Milwaukee for one night only – tickets start at $25.

11. Victoria Victoria

SATURDAY AT 8 P.M. | ANODYNE COFFEE ROASTING CO.

Victoria Victoria will be performing at Anodyne Coffee Roasting Co. on Saturday evening. Pay $15 in advance or $18 at the door to hear songs from the artist named a “rising act” by Rolling Stone Magazine.

12. Mama Tried Motorcycle Show

SATURDAY AND SUNDAY | THE RAVE / EAGLES CLUB

Mama Tried is back at the Eagles Club Ballroom and celebrating 10 years of the indoor invitational. The event kicks off at Fiserv Forum with Flat Out Friday, the “world’s largest indoor flat track race” on a surface coated with Dr Pepper syrup.

13. Baconfest

SUNDAY FROM 11 A.M.-4 P.M. | POTAWATOMI CASINO HOTEL

Baconfest is back with a bunch of bacon treats to try, including buffalo bacon boneless wings, bacon cookies, spicy pork belly bites and more. There’ll also be a selfie station, games for prizes and more. Tickets start at $35. 

14. Milwaukee’s Best Bloody

SUNDAY FROM 11:30 A.M.-3 P.M. | ITALIAN COMMUNITY CENTER

The Great Lakes Hemophilia Foundation is hosting the Milwaukee’s Best Bloody at the Italian Community Center. Participants include Pete’s Pub, Third Street Tavern, Von Trier and more. Sample bloody marys with beer chasers and appetizers, and vote for your fave. Purchase tickets here

15. SHARP Literacy: Unwrapped

SUNDAY FROM 1-4 P.M. | WISCONSIN BREWING COMPANY PARK

Join SHARP Literacy for an afternoon of dishes created by Waukesha area chefs using McDonald’s ingredients. Proceeds from the event will support the delivery of SHARP’s STEAM-based programming to urban elementary students in four Waukesha schools.

16. Engine House 19 Chili Cook-Off

SUNDAY FROM 1-5 P.M. | LAKEFRONT BREWERY BEER HALL

Lakefront Brewery and Engine House 19 Chili Mix will bring their yearly chili and jambalaya cook-off to the Beer Hall on Sunday afternoon. Tickets are $15 for an unlimited tasting of concoctions from the 15 award-winning teams. All proceeds will benefit Racine, Greenfield, Milwaukee and St. Francis fire departments.
