1. Florentine Opera: Tales of Hoffmann 

FRIDAY AND SUNDAY | MARCUS CENTER FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS 

Tenor Kang Wang is making his Florentine Opera debut as the title role of The Tales of Hoffmann (Les Contes d’Hoffmann). This haunting opera dives into the strangeness of one poet’s love life and has two showtimes at the Marcus Center. Tickets are available through the Florentine Opera’s website. 

2. Milwaukee Horror Con 

FRIDAY, SATURDAY AND SUNDAY | BAIRD CENTER 

Wisconsin’s only horror convention is taking over the Baird Center this Friday the 13th weekend, with special guests, exclusive merchandise, premiere indie horror films and more. You can check out the lineup for the weekend’s free film festival and buy single-day or weekend passes here. 

3. Zara Larsson 

SATURDAY AT 8 P.M. | THE RAVE/EAGLES CLUB 

She’s been touring stateside on her “Midnight Sun” run, and this weekend, Zara Larsson is stopping in Milwaukee for one night only. Tickets to her 8 p.m. show, with special guest Amelia Moore, are available here.

4. The Girl on the Train 

ALL WEEKEND | RACINE THEATRE GUILD 

Catch the closing weekend of the Racine Theatre Guild’s production of The Girl on the Train, based on the New York Times bestselling novel by Paula HawkinsFive showtimes remain, with tickets set at $18 for adults on Thursday and $20 for all other days.

ALL WEEKEND | PABST THEATER 

Milwaukee Ballet’s biennial competition presents three world premieres from up-and-coming choreographers in the industry. Get your ticket online to have a say in who wins the grand prize of $5,000 and a future commission by voting for “Audience Favorite.”

THURSDAY FROM 5 P.M. TO 8 P.M. | PILOT PROJECT BREWING 

Almost Home Cat Rescue and Roxz’s Resources & Awareness are hosting a hang out at Pilot Project, just west of the Forum. Learn about each organization’s mission while sipping, snacking and shopping from local vendors. Plus, a Southwest Airlines round-trip ticket will be raffled off alongside a slew of raffle baskets!

7. Rosas & Rosé: Corn Husk Flowers 

THURSDAY FROM 5:30 TO 7 P.M. | 1028 S. NINTH STREET 

Celebrate spring at Latino Arts with this hands-on corn husk flower workshop. The 21+ class will be led by Yesica Coria, and she’ll be teaching guests how to craft tuberoses out of corn husks, a sustainable take-home accompanied by wine and tapas throughout the night. 8. Author Talk: Meg Bortin 

THURSDAY AT 6:30 P.M. | BOSWELL BOOK COMPANY 

Boswell is hosting journalist and author Meg Bortin in conversation with Milwaukee biographer Patrick McGilligan. In her new book, The Rites of ManBortin tells the story of a photographer and a failing author whose entanglement will upend both their lives. The event is free to attend. 

9. Seed Swap 

SATURDAY FROM 1 P.M TO 4 P.M. | CACTUS CLUB 

Bring seeds to share or stop by to browse the collection at Cactus Club’s annual Seed Swap, hosted by Hazelwood Farm. All ages are welcome at this free event, and visitors are not required to bring seeds to participate. Plus, a free “worm composting basics” zine from Kitchen Celebrity (Emma Yates) will be available.

10. St. Patrick’s Day Bar Crawl 

SATURDAY FROM 1 P.M TO 8 P.M. | DUKE’S ON WATER 

Rock your greenest gear for one of this year’s Saint Patrick’s Day-themed Milwaukee bar takeovers. Tickets include free entry into participating venues, exclusive food and drink specials, a free after-party and more. Ticket-holders can head over to Duke’s on Water to receive their wristband from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The event is 21+. 

11. Family Fun Day 

SUNDAY FROM 11 A.M. TO 2 P.M. | SLINGSHOT BAR 

Bars & Rec’s Slingshot Bar in West Allis is hosting a free, Saint-Patrick’s-Day-inspired Family Fun Day. This three-hour celebration will host interactive activities for all ages, including shamrock hopscotch, a scavenger hunt and rubber chicken finger slingshots (of course). Dancers from the McNamara McCarthy School of Irish Dance will be rolling in at noon to perform traditional Irish dance in themed costumes. 

12. ‘Heated Rivalry’ Drag Brunch 

SUNDAY AT 1 P.M. | MILWAUKEE IMPROV 

Flip Phone Drag Brunch is serving brunch extra hot at the Improv, with performers recreating scenes from HBO Max’s “Heated Rivalry.” The event is 21+ and you can reserve your seat at this spirited tribute to the cottage here. 

13. Milwaukee Wave vs. Empire Strykers 

SUNDAY AT 2:05 P.M. | UW-MILWAUKEE PANTHER ARENA
