10 Things to Do in Milwaukee This Weekend: June 17-19

This weekend in Milwaukee is filled with celebrations, vintage markets and more.

1. DIY Bee House with the Milwaukee Public Library

FRIDAY FROM 3 P.M. TO 4 P.M. | WASHINGTON PARK BRANCH

Attendees can find inspiration all around at the DIY Bee House event hosted by the Milwaukee Public Library. Located in the Finney Community room at the Washington Park Branch, the event will teach teens how to build and decorate their very own bee houses with materials they have at home. The event will also have summer reading material for teens that attend. 

2. Rex Orange County Concert

FRIDAY AT 8:30 P.M. | BMO HARRIS PAVILION 

Musical artist Rex Orange County will perform as part of their “Who Cares?” tour at the BMO Harris Pavilion this Friday. They will go on at 8:30 p.m. and perform a set of fun and heartfelt music for fans in attendance.  

3. Flight Day Street Festival at Plume

SATURDAY AT 11 A.M. | PLUME MKE

The Plume MKE vintage shop will be hosting a “Flight Day Street Festival” Saturday that will feature clothing and accessory vendors from Milwaukee, Chicago and beyond. Not only will there be a lot of handmade, thrifted and vintage items to purchase, but there will also be drink service by Blackbird Bar and food from Immy’s African Cuisine. For a sweet conclusion, Pete’s Pops popsicles and Happy Joy Candy Floss cotton candy will be served.

4. Touch a Truck

SATURDAY FROM 11 A.M. TO 3 P.M. | KONKEL PARK 

Konkel Park is hosting a free, family-friendly event called “Touch a Truck” that will give people the opportunity to see, touch and learn about large trucks and heavy duty machinery. After visiting the stationary vehicles, visitors will have the opportunity to stop by the interactive race track. The event will also include food vendors Heavenly Roasted Nuts, Clean Cruisine and Lou Malnati’s for everyone to enjoy. 

5. Summer Soulstice

SATURDAY FROM NOON TO MIDNIGHT | EAST SIDE OF MILWAUKEE 

Summer Soulstice on the Eastside is Milwaukee’s official celebration of the summer solstice. Musicians will perform at venues including the Kenilworth Stage, Blackcat Alley Stage and Ivanhoe Stage. Some of the performers include Dramatic Lovers, Asher Gray and NilexNile. The event will have a plethora of food vendors, arts, crafts and other activities.

6. ARCA Midwest Tour

SUNDAY AT 1 P.M. | WISCONSIN STATE FAIRGROUNDS 

The ARCA Midwest Tour features a great day of car racing at the Milwaukee Mile – otherwise known as the “World’s Oldest Operating Speedway.” The grandstand will open at 9 a.m., but the main events will begin in the afternoon. There will be an autograph session at 12:15 p.m. and racing will commence at 1:00 p.m. 

7. Father’s Day at the Zoo

SUNDAY FROM 9 A.M. TO 5 P.M. | MILWAUKEE COUNTY ZOO 

For Father’s Day, the Milwaukee County Zoo will welcome all dads to come celebrate with free admission to see all of the animals and all of the action. Families are encouraged to come spend the day enjoying the Wisconsin summer weather and appreciate their dads for all that they do, at the zoo!

8. Juneteenth Street Festival

SUNDAY FROM 10 A.M. TO 4 P.M. | 3045 N. DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING

Juneteenth celebrates the emancipation of enslaved people in the United States. This Juneteenth, Milwaukee will host a street festival including a jubilee parade, celebration of culture concert, music, soul food and activities for everyone. Those who come can expect a sense of community on a very significant day.

9. 414Flea

SUNDAY FROM NOON TO 5 P.M. | ZOCALO FOOD PARK 

The 414Flea is a curated goods and vintage market offering a wide variety of vendors. The market will include home goods, handmade jewelry, original artwork and handpicked vintage clothing. There will be upwards of 40 clothing vendors. Attendees can also enjoy live music and good food throughout the evening. 

10. Keg Stand Up

SUNDAY FROM 6:30 TO 8:30 P.M. | LAKEFRONT BREWERY BEER HALL

Anyone 21 and up can attend Lakefront Brewery’s Keg Stand Up, which will feature stand up comedy, dinner and beer tasting. Once a month on Sunday evenings, the Beer Hall will feature performers and food to leave attendees full of laughs and with full stomachs. Don’t forget your ID!
