10 Things to Do in Milwaukee Halloween Weekend: Oct. 28-31

Trick-or-treat times, Jack-O-Lantern Jubilee and more festive fun in Milwaukee this weekend.

1. Trick-or-Treat

There’s three packed days of trick-or-treating happening in the Milwaukee area. Don’t know where to go? Refer to our guide for neighborhoods, dates and times.

2. Mercado P’al Pueblo 

SATURDAY FROM 1-5 P.M. | 839 S. 5TH ST. 

Celebrate Día de Los Muertos at the Walker’s Point Center for the Arts by participating in workshops and checking out local artists at this free event. Food vendors will be there, and there will be free champurrado, pan de muerto and San Jarocho to enjoy. 

3. Serpentine Salvage Vintage Pop-Up

SATURDAY FROM 1-7 P.M. | 2625 S. GREELY ST. 

Local vintage store Serpentine Salvage is hosting vintage vendors ATAMO and Verranox for a pop-up. Located on the third floor of the Hide House, there will be sales, food and beverages. And while you’re at the Hide House, you can also check out Slow Wave Vintage (on the same floor), which will be celebrating its anniversary the same day.

4. Black Cat Alley Halloween

SATURDAY FROM 7:30 A.M.-MIDNIGHT | MULTIPLE LOCATIONS

There’s a full day of fun on the East Side this Saturday. Starting with “Jacked-O-Lantern Jumps Total Body Class” at Shred 415 and ending with the Rocky Horror Picture Show at the Oriental Theatre, there is a packed schedule of events. Other highlights include build-your-own scarecrow in the alley, a pup costume contest at Crossroads Collective and Glow & Throw Axe Throwing at AXE MKE. 

5. Betty Boo’s Spooktacular

SATURDAY AT 9:30 A.M. | BETTY BRINN CHILDREN’S MUSEUM

This “not-so-scary” Halloween event will have a ghost train and a dance party, and the maker space will be open for kids to help make a s spooky haunt. Costumes encourage and no candy will be distributed. Online registration ahead of the event  is encouraged. 

6. Jack-O-Lantern Jubilee

SATURDAY FROM 10 A.M.-2 P.M. | RED ARROW PARK

This new (and free) Downtown Milwaukee event is complete with pumpkins, food trucks and Halloween-themed activities. The Fatty Patty, Jmakin’ Jamaican Kitchen & Grill, Piña Mexican Eats, and Meat on the Street are there serving up grub. Stop by the Milwaukee Downtown booth where the first 500 kiddos can get a free goodie bag. 

7. Tre Rivali Drag Brunch

SATURDAY FROM NOON-2 P.M. | TRE RIVALI

Milwaukee’s queens will be dressed up with a Halloween theme. Mizz Dora Diamond, Amethyst Von Trollenburg, Lux and Iconica Strange will be starring. On the menu is breakfast pizza, baked brioche french toast and more. Make a reservation on OpenTable in advance. 

8. A Spook-tacular Night of Storytelling with Gothic Milwaukee

SATURDAY AT 7 P.M. | PITMAN THEATER

Gothic Milwaukee – typically known for haunted walking tours around town – is offering a new event this year. The event is modeled to have the “creepy charm” of telling ghost stories around the campfire, except in a cozy theater. Anna Lardinois will share tales of Wisconsin’s most famous hauntings from a love-lost architect to Great Lakes shipwrecks. 

9. Mightmare, Rat Bath, Kat and the Hurricane, The Mothman Cacophony and  DJ Honeyboy

SATURDAY AT 9 P.M. | CACTUS CLUB 

Punk country and spooky garage surf music are just a couple of genres represented in this Halloweekend five-band concert. All of these artists are beloved local acts that bring a lot of energy to the stage. All of the proceeds from the night will support the 21st Street Housing Cooperative. 

10. Fungi Fair 

SUNDAY FROM 10 A.M.-4 P.M. | 6941 S. 68TH ST. 

Hosted by and located at the Polish Center of Wisconsin, the Fungi Fair will have mushroom cooking demos, an onsite foray, lectures and more. Socialize, learn and enjoy good food at this free event.
