A letter to our readers.

Milwaukee Magazine is proud to announce the launch of an online service that presents the informative, compelling journalism you’ve come to expect from us in a new and inventive way. We now offer three distinct subscription options, including two specifically designed for our digital platforms.

Until now, you’ve been able to read stories from our print edition online at MilwaukeeMag.com, but only in limited form and sometimes weeks after they’ve appeared in print.

That changes today with the official launch of Member Pass.

Through Member Pass, current print subscribers to Milwaukee Magazine will have unlimited access to online content on any device – desktop and laptop computers, tablets or mobile phones — without any added costs. And through Member Pass, new digital subscribers can purchase individual articles on a pay-as-you-go basis, or with an annual full-access subscription.

“Member Pass gives readers access to content that otherwise would not have been available, adding greater value to MilwaukeeMag.com and further strengthening our ever-evolving website,” says Milwaukee Magazine Editor Kurt Chandler.

We know that in today’s world, options are important. So we’re offering three different ways to use Member Pass.

  1. Pay As You Go

This option lets you make a single small payment for a single story. It’s as easy as buying a song on iTunes, Amazon or Google Play.

Feature stories cost 45 cents apiece and will be available in full no later than the day our monthly print issue hits newsstands. Our comprehensive dining coverage will be available in the same manner, and those stories and reviews will cost 25 cents each. Also, we’ve added popular film and TV/radio critic Duane Dudek to our lineup. His “The Dudek Abides” columns, available only online and featuring exclusive coverage of the upcoming Milwaukee Film Festival, will cost just 25 cents apiece.

  1. Digital-Only Subscription

Not unlike other online subscription models (ESPN Insider and the New York Times, for example), this method gives you unlimited access to everything on MilwaukeeMag.com. A digital subscription is a simple, once-per-year cost of $19, and includes a digital replica of each print issue.

  1. Become a Print Subscriber

If you already subscribe to Milwaukee Magazine, first of all, thank you! We do appreciate it. With your magazine subscription, you have complete access to everything a digital subscription offers.

If you are not a print subscriber, we have a compelling reason to become one. You’ll get the greatest possible value – a full print and digital subscription for $19 per year, featuring our monthly print issues and unlimited access to all content on MilwaukeeMag.com.

To provide a secure payment gateway, we’ve partnered with a local company, iMoneza. There will be no metered paywalls, and like everything you find on MilwaukeeMag.com, each story available through Member Pass is optimized to be read on a desktop or laptop computer, tablet or mobile device.

“Since unveiling the redesigned MilwaukeeMag.com in January,” Chandler says, “we’ve formed a partnership with WisPolitics and introduced several new and exclusive web features, including a weekly political column (Talking Politics), a series of videos at local restaurants, and two monthly columns from talented local authors – Dasha Kelly’s In The Margins and Eddee Daniel’s Urban Wilderness. We’re happy to have Duane Dudek on board, and we’re looking forward to exploring more ways to move our digital platform forward.”
