The Bettys are Back! Nominate an Outstanding Woman You Know

Know an outstanding woman? Here’s how you can nominate her.

The nomination form for Milwaukee Magazine’s annual awards recognizing our city’s influential women opened Tuesday.

MilMag launched the Betty Awards in 2019, in honor of the late Betty Quadracci. Betty was a well-known and well-loved philanthropist in Milwaukee — she was co-founder of Quad, a founder of Milwaukee Women Inc., and publisher of Milwaukee Magazine for 30 years, to name just a few of her accomplishments. She was also widely known for her determination, entrepreneurialism and creativity.

The Betty Awards were created for our first women’s issue last year, to simultaneously honor Betty’s legacy and recognize the women who continue to exemplify it. Each of the categories — Groundbreaker, Tenacious B, Standout Sister, Risk-Taker, Creative Genius and Bridge-Builder — represents one of Betty’s many admirable traits. You can read more about the categories here.

Help us celebrate Milwaukee’s most influential women by nominating women you know who epitomize the characteristics described in these categories. And be sure to check out last year’s winners, chosen from over 150 nominations.

The form is open from now until August 1, and the winners will appear in MilMag’s November issue.
