A Tosa staple. you cannot go wrong with Balistreri’s. We recommend one of their tasty pizza pies with the thinnest and crispiest crust you’ve ever tasted. Other delicious Italian items also always available.

Visually, this place is relatively unchanged since opening in 1993. The old family photos and unpretentious, tight-fitting dining room make diners feel at home. It’s also helped that head chef Juan Urbieta has helmed this ship for so long. He keeps folks coming back for the fried calamari, brick-style chicken and hand-cut pappardelle with duck ragu.

Appetizers, two sandwiches, pastas and a smattering of entrées, like pork chops in a beurre blanc cream and eggplant alla parmigiana. Recipes for the meat lasagna – flavorful and rich, with a terrific beef sauce foundation – and other staples come from Fazzari’s cousin in Italy. My top pick: chicken in Marsala-mushroom cream sauce over penne.

Chilango Express started in a space adjacent to a gas station. It’s since moved to a much larger location. Chilango’s creations start with homemade tortillas, which make all the difference. The freshness of that base ingredient (which yields a fluffy, light tortilla) combined with big meaty chunks of pastor is taco ecstasy. Come early on weekends for the lamb, a dynamite taco filling.
