Milwaukee County Behavioral Health Division is partnering with Rogers Memorial Hospital, NAMI (National Association of Mental Illness), Men of Color (organization out of MATC), MIRACLE (a huge church network in Milwaukee), AKA Sorority (National organization) and more to host “Mental Health Awareness Day” on Wednesday, October 25, 2017. The day will include the PREMIER of the new production of “Pieces: In My Own Voice.” Through music, song, dance and spoken word, this production puts a spotlight on the struggles of living with a mental health disorder. Prior to the play, a resource fair will be available for community members to gather information on programs and services that can support behavioral health treatment and recovery, as well as resources for preventing a mental health crisis. To reserve seats for “Pieces: In My Own Voice,” or to view a full schedule of the day’s events, visit https://mentalhealthawarenessmke.eventbrite.com/.
