A wine bar in Washington Heights

Pick Your Bottles Perpendicular is approaching its first anniversary (5000 W. Vliet St., 414-456-1660). The Washington Heights business is mostly a wine bar, but it’s also a retail store and a spot for a light bite to eat. Co-owner Pepper LaMothe makes one daily soup and offers salads and cheese platters. The shop’s stock of bottled wines are moderately priced – $9-$15. Many are California labels, but there’s also a growing list of Italian and Spanish wines.
