Ray’s Growler Gallery (8930 W. North Ave.) hosts a launch party for 4 Hands Brewing at 5 p.m., and the brewery from Saint Louis is bringing some rarities.
Doc’s Commerce Smokehouse (754 N. Vel R. Phillips Ave.) teams up with MobCraft for the release of Padishah Special Reserve Russian Imperial Stout aged in Weller Special Reserve barrels. Head to Doc’s at 6 p.m. to try some on draft alongside a taste of the Weller Special Reserve. You can also snag a bottle of Padishah and there will be a wax dipping station to style your bottle for your cellar.
Chicago standout Maplewood Brewing is taking over a few of the taps at The Brass Tap (7808 W. Layton Ave.) at 5 p.m.
Thursday, Jan. 30
Bark ‘n Brews returns to Broken Bat Brewing (231 E. Buffalo St.). Head to the brewery between 4 and 10 p.m. with your dog and you get $1 off of each beer. Puppy treats will be on hand to keep the dogs happy.
Friday, Jan. 31
If you’re a fan of Lakefront Brewery you need to head to The Drunk Uncle (1902 S. 68th St.) after 3 p.m. The bar is hosting a huge Lakefront tap takeover. They’ll have more than 25 Lakefront beers on tap including 2017, 2018 and 2019 Black Friday Barrel-Aged Imperial Stouts.
Biloba Brewing (2970 N. Brookfield Rd.) kicks off its fifth home brew contest with a grain pickup from 5 to 8 p.m. and Friday and 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday. Entrants use the ingredients provided, plus a few they add on their own, to create a beer by March, 13. The winner gets to make and serve their beer at Biloba. This year’s style is American wheat. Folks from Central Waters are dropping in at Eagle Park Brewing (823 E. Hamilton St.) from 3 p.m. to midnight. Eagle Park will be pouring a pair of Central Waters collaborations, It’s a Little Thin Russian Imperial Stout and It’s Probably Fine Kolsch. There will be Central Waters brews on tap as well.
Third Space Brewing (1505 W. St. Paul Ave.) celebrates the end of “Dryuary” by releasing Unbridled Enthusiasm Juicy IPA and a new IPA called Baby Yoda. The beers will be available from 2 to 10 p.m.
Go to Discount Liquor Milwaukee (5031 W. Oklahoma Ave.) to try samples from Sierra Nevada (3 to 6 p.m.) and Revolution Brewing (3 to 5 p.m.).
Saturday, Feb. 1
Mitten Fest, the best winter block party in Milwaukee, returns to the street in front of Burnhearts (2599 S. Logan Ave.) from noon to 8 p.m. The amazing event includes live music, food, cocktails and quite a few extremely rare brews from both Bell’s Brewery and Central Waters Brewing. Be sure to bring a donation of clothing, food or cash for Hunger Task Force.
Need a side hustle? Head to Stock House Brewing Co. (7208 W. North Ave.) to hear the stories of 16 entrepreneurs from 1 to 4 p.m. Get some ideas and support local businesses, all the while sipping a beer or two.
