About Event
In 1936, John Steuart Curry became America’s first artist-in-residence at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. For Kansas-born Curry, it was a perfect opportunity to work in his beloved Midwest in an enlightened environment. His murals, paintings and outreach reflected the progressive ties between the arts, the University and the farming community This exhibition will showcase the deep connection between the artist and his adopted state.
