About Event

The Museum is excited to welcome back its award-winning educational traveling exhibit, Smokey Bear and Woodsy Owl: Home Sweet Home! Smokey Bear and Woodsy Owl will encourage visitors to be active explorers and stewards of the land – our home sweet home.

Families can explore the exhibit’s Great Forest, Urban Forest, and connecting bridge and stream as they learn about the value of conservation, safety when playing outdoors, the water cycle, animal life, related careers and more. Exhibit activities underscore the importance of protecting ecosystems as well as ways to reduce, reuse and recycle. In the forest, families can explore the ranger’s station, lookout tower, campsite, forest trail and Woodsy’s puppet theater. A pretend home and backyard setting encourage children to make eco-friendly decisions each day. The exhibit’s pretend stream serves as a transition between the city and forest, and introduces concepts of interdependence and protecting natural resources.
