About Event
The recent demonstration that adult cells can be reprogrammed to become pluripotent stem cells – simply by expressing several proteins known as transcription factors — has eliminated many of the ethical issues formerly associated with the stem cell biology. Dr. Duncan will discuss the molecular mechanisms whereby cells know to develop into specific cell types – and the implications of this new stem cell biology with respect to regenerative medicine. This discussion will be led by Stephen Duncan, PhD.
