John Kaufman, born in New York City and raised mostly on Long Island, moved to the Milwaukee area in 2000 and now lives in Wauwatosa. He has taught English at various high schools and colleges, including Thomas More High School and Cardinal Stritch University. His poems and prose have been published in many places, some of which are Kentucky Poetry Review, Long Island Quarterly, The Lyric, Paumanok: Poems and Pictures of Long Island, Milwaukee Magazine, Education Week and The Madison Capital Times.
